New York City Media Tour: Turning Atlanta’s World Cup Buzz into Boardroom Attention

Metro Atlanta Chamber

Challenge

As Atlanta prepared to host matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, global attention was once again turning toward the Southeast’s fastest-growing economic hub. With growth outpacing the national average and corporate expansions accelerating, the Metro Atlanta Chamber saw a pivotal opportunity: convert international sports visibility into sustained national business credibility. They needed to elevate Atlanta’s leadership story beyond headlines — and into boardrooms.

Solution

To help the Chamber achieve its business messaging goals, Violet PR organized a media tour visit to New York City, coordinating a series of media interviews, podcast recordings, broadcast segments and deskside briefings with reporters that ranged from top tier publications to those focused more closely on economic development and sports business.

Our team leveraged existing relationships, and forged new ones, to make sure that the leaders of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the high-growth community were able to share the region’s strengths with their targeted business decision maker audience.

The successful media tour resulted in a jam-packed itinerary with 13 interviews held over the course of two days with reporters from Forbes, Bloomberg and Bloomberg Businessweek, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, Nikkei Asia, Fast Company, Le Monde and more. The media tour helped to form new media relationships for the Metro Atlanta team and resulted in immediate coverage, as well as a pipeline of media opportunities for years to come.
