In 2024, the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) sought to amplify awareness of its flagship customized training program, NCEdge. The goal was twofold: drive greater in-state participation from employers seeking skilled workforce solutions, and attract national and international businesses to North Carolina. Violet PR was engaged to craft a compelling narrative that highlighted the program’s success stories, economic impact, and value to companies across diverse industries.
Solution
Violet PR launched a multi-pronged earned media strategy that spotlighted NCEdge’s role in shaping North Carolina’s workforce readiness and competitiveness. In its first year, our campaign secured national coverage in outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, NASDAQ, MSN Money, The Manufacturing Executive, Area Development Magazine, Simple Flying, and Manufacturing Dive, among others. Regionally, we elevated visibility with North Carolina’s employers through coverage in The Charlotte Ledger, Triad Business Journal, Triangle Business Journal, WGHP (FOX8), WPTF Radio, and WNC Business. To strengthen the program’s story, Violet PR partnered with NCEdge to craft narrative-driven case studies showcasing training successes. These stories were positioned as proof points to bolster recruitment, retention, and economic development conversations statewide and beyond.
