Dan Johnson specializes in economic development, commercial real estate, and community-focused storytelling. With more than 15 years of experience in communications and marketing, he leads strategic campaigns for clients in economic development, commercial real estate, and the AEC sectors. His work helps organizations refine their narratives, elevate their visibility and connect investment initiatives to meaningful community impact. 

Prior to joining Violet PR, Johnson served as account director at R&J Strategic Communications, where he led the agency’s B2B practice focused on commercial real estate. His work included prominent projects such as Print House and Ora in Hackensack, Rivet Apartments and West Side Square in Jersey City, along with numerous medical, industrial, office, and residential developments across the region. Earlier in his career, he held roles with Weichert Realtors, L&M Healthcare Communications, the U.S. House of Representatives, and Kessler PR Group, gaining experience across public affairs, healthcare communications, media relations, and real estate marketing. 

Deeply involved in the commercial real estate and economic development industries, Johnson serves as co-chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Northern New Jersey District Council and previously served as Public Relations Chair for the Northern New Jersey chapter. In recognition of his professional impact, he was named to the Somerset County Business Partnership’s “40 Under 40” in 2024 and recognized as one of New Jersey’s top marketing and communications professionals under 40 by the NJ Ad Club in 2019. 

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from King’s College, where he also served as captain of the men’s ice hockey team.
