Violet PR was hired to generate earned media coverage around the grand opening of greater New Orleans’ newest coworking office called Primary Workspace.  A modern coworking and event venue built within the shell of a historic 1911 schoolhouse, the development brought to life a facility that sat mostly vacant for more than 50 years – in the small, historic town of Gretna across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. Our team worked with three central project players: the developer, architect and general contractor, each with different target audiences, to bring the building’s story to life.

In just two months, the Violet PR team executed a fast-paced campaign to secure earned media coverage for the building’s opening, aiming to bring new members to the coworking community and new business to the designer and contractor. We highlighted the project’s careful historic preservation and hospitality-inspired design – as well as its role driving economic investment and businesses to Gretna. Violet PR leveraged relationships with national, trade and local media covering architecture and design, construction, as well as urban and economic development. 

Violet PR generated media coverage from over 20 national, trade and regional outlets, including The Architect’s Newspaper, Commercial Property Executive, New Orleans CityBusiness, Building Design+Construction and the Business of Design Podcast to reach a total audience exceeding 174 million people. The coverage drew attention to Primary Workspace as an ideal coworking space for small and growing businesses in the New Orleans region.
